Intermediate Beginner Gymnastics – Step 2
  • This class is ideal for 6+ year olds with at least 6-12 consecutive sessions (1-2 years) of prior experience in Step 1.
  • The goal of this class is to continue perfecting skills learned in Step 1 along with casts/supports on various bars, walks & balances on high beams, and advanced positions like hollow body, push ups, and bridges. More focus will be placed on strengthening and form/technique.
Suggested Prerequisite: ability to rebound 2 feet off springboard, forward roll, cartwheel over block, wall handstand, partial kick up to handstand, ability & confidence to hold a support on a high bar and walk on a high beam, basic positions and exercises such as split position, bridge, push up, proper T-position.

Participants who are not able to get on & off a high beam, walk on a high beam unassisted, hold a support on the bar, work at a station independently, and/or behave appropriately will be asked to transfer to a Step 1 class.
