Advanced Beginner Gymnastics – Step 3
This class is for 7+yr olds with at least 6-12 consecutive sessions (1-2 years) of prior experience in Step 2.
The goal of this class is to continue perfecting skills learned in Steps 1 & 2 along with developing backward rolls, headstands, handstands, bridges, and bar skills such as the pullover, back hip circle, and various swings.
Approximately 50% of class time will focus on strength & flexibility. The emphasis is placed on preparing the athlete to enter our Developmental track, leading to competition team.
Suggested Prerequisite: dive roll to mat stack, cartwheel, assisted bridge kick over, backward roll, block pullover, advanced positions and exercises such as levers, tuck ups, chin up hold, hollow & superman holds.
